Is Your Hospitality Business Ready for
Payday Super?
From 1 July 2026, super must reach your employees' funds within 7 business days of every payday.
Not quarterly. Every. Single. Pay run.
This isn't a minor admin update — it's the biggest change to superannuation obligations in decades.
For hospitality businesses running casual rosters, split shifts, and high staff turnover, the new rules create real exposure.
A single missed or late payment triggers an automatic ATO assessment. And unlike the old system, you won't be self-assessing — the ATO will do it for you.
The penalties are steep: 25% of unpaid super for a first offence. 50% if it happens again within 24 months.
And once you're past the 28-day window, those charges are no longer tax deductible.
On top of that, the super calculation itself is changing.
Super will now be calculated on Qualifying Earnings — a broader base than the current OTE — meaning bonuses and allowances that weren't previously counted, now are.
We've put everything you need to know into one free guide.
